The Oracles have Spoken| Ancestor Elevation - Honor the Mothers

Every month I host a sacred space for Black Women and Femmes to be able to work on embracing their spiritual gifts. We typically pair up but tonight I asked for message for the Temple.

However, tonight we didn't just get a message that only applied to us. This message was for us all. The Mothers, The Iyaami called out to us.

Right now the energy is thick but mental fortitude is being called for. Don't be so hard on yourselves. Be in flow and, if you are doing the work, know you are protected.

One of my goddaughters mentioned that she was called to give an offering to The Iyaami in the form of devotion. Remember our Ancient, African, Indigenous, Mothers. Spend time with them. Talk about what they went through. Remember not the trauma but the beauty we inherited from them. Focus on them!

Dance, play, express JOY with our Mothers.

The Odu of the year spoke of the challenges and the ebo (offerings) that would protect us through it all.

With everything going on, seize your joy.

Honor and ELEVATE your ancestors.

This came up very specifically. I'll posted at the end opportunities for you to join in with my community in doing that work.

Let's very briefly talk about the Iyaami. The way they have been hidden and/or demonized. How much of that is tradition? How much of it is colonization and men? We more we honor and embrace Our Mothers and the Divine Feminine, the more balance and harmony are restored thus bringing in good fortune.

So what to do?

October is a month where the veil is naturally then. Communication with the Divine is easier during this time. Honoring the Ancestors during this time is ideal.

Temple Egbe Ori Egun Ofo Ase and Irentegbe Temple are going to be doing a week of Ancestor Veneration and Elevation at the end of the month.

• October 27th - Oya Feast Day. She is the Orisha that helps guide the Ancestors to the Ancestral realm so it so fitting we begin the week with her.

• October 28 - November 3rd we will have a series of steps to bring about the celebration and elevation of our Ancestors.

• November 2nd we will be doing a special zoom gathering to honor our Ancestors, with song as we as members.

October 23rd - Some of us will begin a 9-day Elevation Ritual for our Ancestors with a heavy focus on our Ancestral Mothers. If you have been doing Ancestor Work and would like to participate, send me a message and I will send the ritual over to you.

It's Time. Those ready to do the work will. It's not something everyone is going to feel called to do. But the more of us that do, the more Ancestors we elevate collectively, the more that are able to support us collectively.
