Our Itadogun Odu 12/21/24 | Ofun Odi

Ifa revealed for us the Holy Odu - Ofun Odi. Owonrin Oturopon vs Irete Okanran. Owonrin Oturopon indicating that we are in Ire.

Please note that the casting for Ire or not wasn’t clear until the very last mark. We are happy to be in Ire, however we definitely are towing the line when it comes to being in alignment with our good fortune. Let’s make sure we are falling all advisories and taboos (this is part of your ebo) for this Itadogun cycle, as well as for our community.

Goal is to have ebo materials gathered by Thursday, December 26th. However, there are a few folks who want to give their ebo Christmas Eve or Day, I am open to bless offerings then as well. Send me a chat with your email so you can be added on the invite if you are not one my godchildren

Owonrin Oturopo-Ire Odu

  • Protection from illness is assured by successfully handling the stress of unexpected change

  • For some there is a blockaDo ge that will have them being off path

    • Makes sense - It’s the holidays and somethings that brings out ugly behavior

    • Peace and prosperity coming from ebo to Ifa

  • Protection from miscarriage

  • Reinforces the need for “prayers’ in the morning and evening to God

  • Speaks of the need for humility

Irete Okanran - Ibi Odu

I’m sharing this one because it was so close. There may be some message here for us as a community or you individually

  • Perseverance and determination lead to new opportunities

  • Need for harmony in our personal relationships

  • One must follow Isese and all that encompasses the tradition, especially ancestors, for blessings

  • avoiding gossip and small talk

  • caution regarding a conspiracy among one’s contemporaries

  • Do not harm people (this isn’t just physically)

  • Be careful so not trapped by enemies

  • Follow Ifa’s directives

  • Warns against revenge

  • Do not lose hope around having children

Sister Temple Odu Ika Ogbe

Oluwo Baba Suruu Ifaneye (Formerly Baba Teju) cast the Itadogun for the Egbe (Community) for which we are a part of. The Odu I cast will be the more prevalent energy, however this one will also be present for us as well.

Ifa revealed to us the Holy Odu Ika Ogbe. This came in Ire through Oyeku Ogbe.

Based simply on the metaphysical properties of these two Odu, it would seem that the journey and elevation from Babalawo to Oluwo bring with a resounding wave of Ase that is helping all of us open roads for us.

Oyeku Ogbe is calling to task a clearing a way of things, habits, and people that are no longer in alignment so that room can be made for the things that will “bring about our good condition”.

  • Contemplation leads to the open road

  • patience is the foundation of good fortune

  • Standing up for our rights and demanding basic respect

  • Warning of watching or words

  • Ika - power of the word, negative words are just as powerful

  • Proper ebo brings good fortune

  • Frenemies all around

Itans

Verse 1: I'afojudi, Mi afagbadi. "He said rudeness, I said insolence, he said stubbornness, I said impatience. He said you cannot use a snake for a belt. Nobody is rude enough to hit the Chief's son over his head. Let me be respected and honored today" These the Awos who cast Ifá for Ariwo enu Who was called loudmouth on the day he got himself into trouble for being rude. They told him to see the error of his ways. He was told to offer sacrifice but he did not listen and refused.

Ifá says we will soon be tested for good character. Somebody whom we trusted has abandoned us and we would like to shout that from the rooftops giving in to our indignity. Don't do that, Ifá says Good character, at times, consists of silence and keeping one's mouth shut when speaking would just become hate speech.

Verse 2: If Ika profits me, I would ascend the throne of the king of Ifa. Wickedness does not profit me andI would ascend the throne of the king of Ifa. The deity of wickedness would reward the wicked. These were the Awos who cast divination for the Hyea, the one that was going to get pregnant with twins. She asked, "Would I have children on Earth?" She was advised to offer ebo and she complied.

Meanwhile, the hyena was then heavy with pregnancy. They would not be any problem, they assured her. Soon after, she delivered her babies safely and life. So pleased her. She then started to dance and rejoice. She was praising her Babalawos and her Babalawos we're praising ifa.

If Ika profits me I would ascend the throne of the king. Wickedness does not profit me and I would ascend the throne of the king. The deity of wickedness would reward the wicked, cast divination for the hyena that was going to get pregnant with twins.

Ofun Odi - Ire

  • Receiving blessings brings a rebirth of consciousness or bad behavior leads to confinement

  • Blessing of wealth

  • Good fortune is dependent on good character and following Ifa’s principles

  • Might need to receive Egbe

  • Speaks on Ebo being more efficient than charms or medicines

  • Being close to Obatala and Ifa brings blessings and protection from enemies

    • This echoes the Odu we received for 2025

Itan 1 - Ofun restricted goodness. Waragba, act quickly so that Ofun might not end us. Ifa was divined for Olori-Oga. They said: Anyone who restricts goodness to the house will never receive goodness from outside. They advised him to sacrifice to allow goodness to flow into the house.

  • Waragba - According to Google this means “Old Woman”

  • Olori-Oga - Means The Chief

What do you hear this Itan saying to you? What is it saying to the community at large?

Itan 2 - A woman goes to the market with her baby on her back. She is looking at goods when she farts. She pops her baby on the butt saying that it was her baby that farted. By the time she got home the baby was ill. She tried all she could with no success. She consulted Ifa and Ifa told her that she had lied on her baby. The baby’s Ori abhorred it. She was to give ebo and than admit that she had lied. She gives her ebo and then returns to the market place. Then she shouts out that it was her that farted yesterday and not her baby.

What do you hear this Itan saying to you?

Itan - Several clients consult Ifa around the same time. The Cobra, the Phyton, the Long Tailed Snake, The Hunter, and Adetelewa, Ounko’s daughter. Adetelewa is the daughter of a hunter. The Cobra, Phyton, and Long Tailed Snake all courted Adetelewa. Each one wooed her and she agreed to each one. They all began pressuring her to pack up and come live with them, but she did not know which one to choose.

She was consulted Ifa to know how she would have a good home. Ifa told her that she caused a problem for herself by not making a definite choice. She was to give ebo to find a good husband because he was not in the previous three. She was to give the ebo to Ogun so that she could get a good husband.

She made the ebo but the three suitors kept coming by and she could not tell them she was no longer interested, so she ran away. As this is happening the Hunter is consulting Ifa to have a good wife. He is told to give ebo to Ogun and to practice his profession with ardour. He complies.

One day he is hunting and hiding in a tree to ambush an animal when he sees a woman running into the forest. The Hunter comes down and asks her name. It’s Adetelewa. He asked her to marry him, she said yes but she did not know what o do about the previous 3 suitors. The hunter told her she need not fear. She returns home with the hunter and the previous 3 did nothing to her.
